TOPIC: 40 years since Jimi died

40 years since Jimi died 2 years, 9 months ago #19

It is 40 years today since Jimi Hendrix died. I remember persuading the headmaster of my school to dedicate the following morning's chapel service to him. There were some very strange looks on the faces of the teachers when we played the whole of Machine Gun through the chapel sound system, turned up to #11.

That's a cool story Nick! Would have like to seen their faces. Cuz 11 is one more than 10 right?!

My dad played guitar just like him, well not JUST like him, lol. But he was left handed and played a right handed up-side down. It was very confusing when he was teaching me!

At the end of Childhood's End's performance last night our two guitarists performed a off the cuff version of Little Wing and we had dedicated the evening to Jimi's memory.

How come when I turn my amp up and "try" and do that with my nice white Strat my wife shouts at me and tells me to stop the racket. Typical..one rule for wonderful innovative inventive supremely talented one-in-a-million guitarists and another for us bedroom rockstars!!
