We are sad to announce that our lead guitarist since 2003, the amazing John Stack, has left the band on account of having moved 3000 miles away back to his hometown in upstate New York. For those of you who have seen W1P live or even caught some of the clips of the band on YouTube, you know that John was a terrific guitarist and an oustanding vocalist.
We are, however, proud to announce that long time W1P bassist Paul Samarin is sliding over to the lead guitar chair. Paul is a founding member of W1P has has served as its bass player since 1998. However, Paul's real passion is guitar (for an example of this, take a listen to his cover of Corporal Clegg which appears on the album "A Fair Forgery of Pink Floyd"). Paul has now played leads for W1P in our last 4 shows and has stunned us with the incredible accuracy and feel he has for David Gilmour's signature parts.
Joining Which One's Pink? on bass is Scott Richards, a long time veteran of the LA tribute band scene. Scott is a rock solid low end man who has been in lcoal tributes to Journey, Boston, The Allman Brothers, Styx and the Eagles. You can hear some of Scott's bass work on a cover of "Hey You" by S.A.M., which also appears on A Fair Forgery of Pink Floyd.
John will always be a part of W1P, especially since he is prominently featured on W1P's 2010 alubm "Just the Basic Facts" (did I mention that it is available on iTunes?). We will miss John tremendously but we will soldier on with a very solid lineup and we hope that you will continue to support the band (even if from afar). If you happen to be in the LA area on July 9, W1P will be playing "The Wall" in its entirety (along with a lengthy set of addtional Floyd classics) at the world famous House of Blues, Sunset Strip! Please join us if you can!
