It is now the 1st of June, and has been a whole month since the 2012 UK tour started. At the start of May we embarked on a long journey travelling around the small island that is the United Kingdom...from Belfast to London, and Aberdeen to Cornwall! There have been so many highlights for us this time round, and it has been amazing to come back again to tour the UK in 2012. The tour began with the slight setback of Damian breaking his foot, but as any accomplished member of the Brit Floyd squad should - he soldiered on and still gave every show his all….what a trooper! Our most exciting aspect of the tour thus far has been celebrating our new association with creative mental health charity Squeaky Gate. It was fantastic having members of the charity performing Syd Barrett songs alongside us at the Royal Albert Hall and the Birmingham NIA. Our third show doing this will be tomorrow night at the Cambridge Corn Exchange, and we are looking forward to seeing Rosemary Breen, Simon Gunton, and the rest of the charity. It is another opportunity to keep helping to raise money for such a good cause. The journey continues through June into July, and looking at the list of remaining dates we are enthralled to be covering so many more parts of the UK. Thank you so much to everyone who has been to a show up until now, you have as always been a pleasure to play for, and it is always greatly appreciated to get so many uplifting comments on Facebook the day after we have performed. Take care all, and for those still due to come to a show in June or July - we look forward to seeing you there! |
