I saw these guys perform last year, it was a smaller venue, and they didn't have all their toys (mr. screen, etc.), but though I have say - it didn't matter much, one of those no seat/stand up gigs, and I always love dancing to Young Lust with a pretty girl , and these boys rock, definitely check 'em out!!!

I haven't had the pleasure of seeing The Machine, but I've heard quite a bit of their live recordings. Because their remit is very different to Brit Floyd, almost a jam band at times, they are far less predictable. Sometimes they nail it and soar, other times they just aren't in the zone. You have to admire them for the risks they take, though.
I don't know why, but there it is.

A friend of mine was a big Machine fan and he got me and a friend of mine to go see them with him and his wife......
My friend and I were big TAPFS fans at the time (this is a few years ago), walked out about half way through, we thought is was horrible.....
The lead guy does have talent but he can't be floyd all by himself, (he does Roger really good) but they fall way short all the way around....
So we took my friend and his wife to see TAPFS about 6 months later, he has not missed a show since and has not bothered seeing the machine again....

I'm considering on seeing The Machine at the end of Jan.2011 Just wondering if it would be worth the 2 hour plus drive in the snow? I've seen good and bad reviews on the band. Have they changed anything visually or musically (added a sax player or 2nd guitarist) ? Wondering if anyone has seen TM this year and to give a recent review.

Thanks, Mike

The Machine got a new lead singer last year. Joe Pascarell was replaced. He did lead vocal, lead guitar and slide guitar. He was awesome. To me, he made up quite a bit of the band. You could tell by his facial expressions that his heart was really into Floyd.

The new lineup is not as good. Saw the new show two weeks ago. Left a bit to be desired.

Never the less if they stop in your town, check em out. I am a bit of a Floyd snob lol. I'll still go see them. They just used to be better.
